Social Service Activity Report for NOV & DEC – 2006

Venue : Venkateshwara Social Service Association, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad
Program: Annadaanam for the inmates (Orphans & Semi Orphans) of V S S A, Malkajgiri

Sri K S Murthy of Computer Division (BSD) of ECIL sponsored this Annadaanam on the occasion of his grand daughter Baby Sylusha Chandrika’s Birthday. All the inmates sang various Happy Birth Day songs showering best wishes for the Baby of the occasion. Humanitarian Aid Foundation members made donation to the VSSA towards the monthly provisions.

Program: Donation of Washing Machine and Uniform Dresses

The NEW Washing Machine was sponsored jointly by Helping Friends Association (Ms Vijaya Lakshmi of CND and Ms Mangala Deshpande and her friends at Trimulgherry, Hyderabad) and Humanitarian Aid Foundation. The Uniform Dresses for orphans are sponsored by Mr Venkateshwarlu of APSD, ECIL.

Program: NSIC Trainee – Accident Relief help

Mr.N.Naria, NSIC Trainee in ISD, lost 2 fingers when he was working in the workshop. Some members of Humanitarian Aid Foundation donated Rs.2,300/- for this boy towards his incidental expenses.

Program: Donation of monthly provisions, Towels, Note Books and Sweets to the inmates

Donation was given to this Organization as mentioned above. Following poems will explain how this centre is being run in a dedicated way.

Program: Donation to Blind Girl for her studies (B Ed)

Many members of HAF and non-members made individual donations (total around Rs.16,000/- including the donation given by Mr BVS Murthy of Bhanu Kiran Memorial Trust) to the Blind Girl M. Ramayamma towards her further studies, in response to the appeal sent out by Humanitarian Aid Foundation. The contributions are still coming even after the function is over. We will ensure that the entire amount reaches the blind girl. We thank all the noble souls who have donated.

Vaikunta Ekadhasi Day
Venue : M.E.A.N.S. Old Age Home, near NFC, Moula Ali, Hyderabad

Program: On this Vaikunta Ekadhasi day, some of us went to the Temple (at 3.45 am) for Madhava Pooja and evening we went to the Old age home for Maanava Seva.

We made old age inmates to sit around and did the chanting of Sri-Hari-Mantra “Om Namo Narayanaya” 108 times in which everybody participated happily. At the end of the program sweets were distributed to all. Thank God that we could make Madhava Pooja as well as Maanava Seva, same day.

Social Service Activity Report for OCTOBER – 2006

Venue : ECIL, Main Gate – Near the Reception

Program: Distribution of Guide Sticks for the Blind People

In order to make it convenient to the members of our Humanitarian Aid Foundation, (who are the employees of ECIL, Hyderabad), we decided to conduct this program near the main gate of ECIL. We called some of the Blind Personnel from the National Association of the Blind and handed over the GUIDE STICKS, through the hands of some of our HAF members.

Program: Donation towards Engineering Education to Orphan Boy Mr Sudhir

A Poor boy Mr Sudhir lost both the parents in an accident recently, barely 3 months after joining in Geethanjali Engineering College, at Keesara, Hyderabad. He was suffering from acute financial shortage to pursue his Engineering Degree. Mr Anand, a daily wage employee in ECIL, who is highly charity minded, has donated Rs,3,500/- (which came was given to him as Deepavali Bakshis). When this Charity Call came to Humanitarian Aid Foundation, we went on a Charity Hunt to help this boy. Within 48 hours, Rs 2,400/- got collected. A program was organized and the Boy was called to come along with the Admission letter issued by EAMCET convener, for verification. The Boy was introduced to everybody, in the Dubba Canteen, ECIL. To our great surprise, many people spontaneously responded. Final donation amount came to Rs.6,600/- and the boy Mr Sudhir was spell bound with happiness.

Program: Distribution of New Dresses to the inmates of these 2 Orphanages.

Many people try to pass on used dresses to Orphanages. Humanitarian Aid Foundation distributed New Dresses to the inmates of these two Orphanages, for the occasion of Deepavali, similar to what was done during last year. The new dresses brought in lot of cheers to these Orphans. The experience of the HAF members during this time is reflected in following couplets.

When we make the eyes of Orphans Sparkle,
The joy of everyone would reach the Pinnacle,
When we are trying to chant Almighty’s Namavali,
Let us make sure Orphans also celebrate Deepavali.

Mr Srivyal, MBA, son of one of the ECIL Employees, who got the vision to open an Orphanage to help the deserving children, recently started the Sphoorti Foundation as his maiden attempt. The members of HAF donated the monthly provisions to this Organization and wished Mr Srivyal all success in his Noble venture that he started at a very young age.
